A place for our photos.

Check out our photo's here at Flickr. (we were practicing with the new camera!)

Ferrets in Boxland

When it comes to packing, ferrets are ever so helpful! They're always around to supervise the process and make sure that we humans are doing everything right! The take the time to personally inspect the quality and integrity of each box to ensure that all of their belongings will make it safely to England... eventually.

Kyoko approves of this box.

Wiki thinks boxes are great places to play hide and seek...

"You found me!

Boxes make great sleepy huts too! After personally helping to pack this box, Qanuk takes a "time out" from all of his hard work.

Learning a new Language

So we anticipate numerous occasions where we'll inevitably say something terribly stupid...

Fearing potential firing (as one of Kim's students delicately stated in class one day, "Mrs. Raccio, you know you can't call your English students a 'bunch of wankers', right? Do you have any idea what that even means?" Kim did not. Upon being informed of the meaning of her comments she was equally embarrassed and apologetic to her period G Zoology class.), Jesse found the following website to aid us through the UK/US language barrier:

English to American

Hopefully it will prevent Kim from being deported....
Enjoy!

P.S. There will be a quiz on the material presented in this website, including questions such as:
In England, the most common contents of a boot include:
(a) jelly beans
(b) a foot
(c) a spare tire
(d) sock lint
(e) urine

T -10 days

OK - clearly I was a wee bit overzealous when it came to packing up my teaching materials for shipment to England. As Pam at UPS gently put it, "Do you have ANY idea how much you're going to pay for this?". Obviously, we did not. Sooooo... the 10,000 £ question is how do you shrink 200 lbs. of paperwork (mostly in the form of AP Bio and Chemistry class materials) down to 45 kg?

3 days later, she's still in the trunk...

Boxes o my!

Our house has been taken over by the vicious box monster and it's evil spawn -- kind of like square tribbles.

One small step...for us at least

For some reason, out of a sense of adventure or a desire to avoid the future President Fred Thompson and the continuation of the "benevolent" Republican dictatorship, we have decided to move to the United Kingdom (or perhaps it's a previously unexpressed desire to work on our diction). Specifically, we will be living in a small town in Oxfordshire, a beautiful and pristine rural area (or so I am told). However, for devout city dwellers it apparently falls under the category of "the boonies". Of course, seeing as we're proudly owned by four fabulous ferrets, we are happy to move to a country which created the sport of ferret leggin' (shhh - don't tell the A.S.P.C.A.). Included here will be pictures and thoughts (who needs those) about our psychotic, self imposed exile to another country.
