A Single Sweet Bluebell...

A fine and subtle spirit dwells
In every little flower,
Each one its own sweet feelin
g breathes
With more or less of power.

There is a silent eloquence

In every wild bluebell

That fills my softened heart w
ith bliss
That words could never tell.

A springtime walk in the Cotswolds c
an reveal many lovely things - baby birds, young foxes, and bluebells! Although work sadly kept us from spending much time in the woods, we did find a few moments to seek out the famous England's famous "bluebell woods":

A delicate little flower, the bluebell is endemic to England and currently protected by the British Government.
It's particularly amazing to view these little flowers in the springtime (April-May) when they form complete "bluebell carpets" within deciduous forests. Walking thought the forests is magical - in the true fairy tale sense. Sadly, life isn't really a fairy tail for this little plant. English Bluebells make up an estimated 25-50% of the global bluebell population and global warming is starting to have a significant negative impact on the species...Regardless - it was lovely to see these lovely little flowers in full bloom here in their native habitat. Blog pictures really don't do them justice --- you'll have to come and see for yourself next year!
