The Amazing Adventures of Shandy and Tam

Our quiet, Cotswold way of life took a turn for the crazy a few months ago with the arrival of a few new fuzzybutts - Shandy & Tam!

We adopted the 8-month-old fur team from the Three Shires Ferret Shelter, in part, to help restore some balance at home following the passing of Kyoko. We originally only planned to bring home one fuzzy - but the laws of Ferret-Math are never to be violated... and low and behold - our first full-blooded British ferrets bounced into our lives.

Both brown sable hobs (or "poley" boys) - we felt it necessary to give them some proper British names:

Shandy: A beer, usually a lager, flavored with lemonade (or ginger beer and yes, IMHO, it is a nasty as it sounds)

Tam: Old English for "Twin"

The standard "Do I know you?" session on day 1:

We thought the whole integration process went pretty well - until Quank started hording all of his prized possessions and threatening to kill anyone who came near him:

We let everyone go their own way for awhile - and the babies didn't waste any time getting into EVERYTHING:
The joys of nip-training:

Fortunately some unexpected snow provided everyone with a fantastic diversion:

Bizzler isn't really sure what to do with all this cold, white stuff everywhere:
And for those too old to go outside - the snow came to them... and was equally confusing:
Eventually all the excitement wore everyone out and, in their exhaustion, they finally agreed on a truce.Be sure to keep an eye out for the next issue!!!
